The Doors last album was L.A. Woman released on April 19, 1971.
The original cover for the album featured the band members’ faces printed on a sheet of clear cellophane glued to the inside of the cover with a large cutout. The sleeve featured a female figure crucified on a utility pole. That image was being considered by Electra for the front cover. The photographer was Wendell Hamick.
This is the image and overlay that was being presented to Electra VPs for consideration. It is in excellent condition and to say it is rare is an understatement. Both images measure approximately 10 inches by 8 inches.
Excellent Condition
